I'm Mary, grateful, nervous, recovering alcoholic.

I'm also a member of the CIA, Catholic Alcoholics. Um, Cromwell, as Ann said, has been my home group since I first came into this fellowship.

Um, what else do you need to?

Oh, my sobriety date is July 4th, 1974.

That changed.

I came in originally March 19th,

but I'll get around to telling you why, honestly,

I had to change the date.

I didn't want to become an alcoholic.

I grew up with alcoholism.

I saw I was under the feelings that it brought down to me.

And I wasn't going to be like that.

And for the better part of my life,

oh, I'm also the oldest of four children in my immediate family,

and I was always told that I should be setting the example.
