A pretty special episode recorded all in person in my New York studio

with some of the three biggest brain researchers in the

Ethereum space, Charlie Noise and Georgios Constantinople from Paradise

and Max Reznik from Special Mechanisms Group, discuss a possible

change in direction for one part of the

Ethereum roadmap. Max has recently introduced Braid which is a development

framework for changing how execution works on the Etheorem layer one.

Instead of there being a single person who proposes a block,

multiple people come together using a clever mechanism

to co-create a block together.

This has properties that Max believes are far more fair and efficient when it comes to transaction ordering and MEV.

The part of the Ethereum roadmap that this relates to the most is the scourge, where Ethereum attempts to deal with the scourge that is

MEV and its centralizing and corrupting impact upon blockchains. Multiple concurrent

proposers or multi-proposers for short Max believes is a better and more elegant way to achieve

the goals that Ethereum is trying to achieve with its Gourge roadmap.

While Max's Braid framework is not complete and more research is needed. It is nonetheless

peak to the interest of many other mechanism designers and auction thinkers that are

out there in the crypto space. So today on the show you're going to hear a history of MEV on
