Scientists here in Britain say they're excited by the results of a trial of a blood test

that can detect dozens of types of cancer.

The test was able to correctly identify two out of three cancers,

as well as pinpoint their origin.

The lead researcher, Professor Mark Middleton from Oxford University,

told James Coppnell about his findings.

We did a blood test on just over 6,000 people who'd been referred by their GP

for urgent tests to rule out cancer and studied the results of that blood test

compared with the tests that they were going to have anyway.
