Welcome back my friends to the morning mindset. This is the time for you and for me

to get our minds aligned with God's truth. That is what we want to do every day as we come

together around his word here at the morning mindset. Thank you for joining me.

I hope you're ready to put aside the distractions and get your mindset for the day.

We're looking at John Chapter 15 and we're moving on into verse number 5 where Jesus continues

to describe our relationship to him through the use of the imagery of a vine like

a grape vine and he says I am the vine you you are the branches.

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit.

For apart from me, you can do nothing.

If anyone does not abide in me, he's thrown away like a branch and withers, and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned.

Now friends let's stop there that is some pretty sobering imagery that Jesus

has just used but let's go back to the beginning of

verse five and talk about the beautiful things he's describing. He says he is the vine, so

again picture the grapevine with the massive trunk coming up the center.

He says, that's me, that's me, Jesus, I am the vine.

And then those branches that come off of the vine to the sides.

That is you. You are the branches.

And he's saying whoever abides in me or remains connected to me and I

Remaining connected to him

That's the person who is going to bear, look at the words he uses, much fruit.

For apart from me, you can do nothing.

Now let's stop for just a moment. Do those words much fruit resonate with you?
