If it's Thursday all eyes on Capitol Hill, where tonight the House Committee investigating

the violent January 6 attack and the scheme to overturn the election, we'll be laying

out its findings in prime time, promising to show in vivid detail how close the country came

to seeing the democracy overturn. I'll speak to lawmakers on both sides of the aisle here in

studio about tonight's hearings, what information can break through and, about Congress's efforts

to get meaningful gun reform legislation to the president's desk. And later President Biden

speaks at the summit of the Americas as the administration tackles big issues like climate

and migration, amid growing tensions with many of the leaders inside of Latin America.

Welcome to Meet the Press. Now I'm Chuck Todd on what could be an historic day and night here

in Washington DC as the January 6 committee begins to present its findings to the American people.

That'll happen in just a few hours from now. This is the first of what we're told will be at least

six hearings, nearly a year after the committee began its investigation. And as you might expect

committee members are hyping these hearings up, some of them are hyping them up a bit bigger than

maybe some of us expected. Jamie Raskin, he says it's going to blow the roof off the House.

Adam Kinzing, one of the two Republicans on the committee says it'll change history.

That's some big talk. Will it live up to that height? It all depends on what kind of story they tell

and how they tell it. We've learned so much already about the attack itself and the various

efforts by the former president and his allies to try to overturn the election results.

But there's still so much we don't know what the president was doing during the attack.

What his family and advisors have told the committee, in fact we may see cameos of Ivanka Trump

and Jared Kushner tonight. How organized was the attack itself and was it really two different

schemes and the attack on the Capitol was actually after the initial plan failed. How much
