0:12.4	Now I'm Kristen Welker, the January 6th committee, just wrapped up its 7th public hearing, laying
0:18.5	out its findings, a hearing that included new testimony from former President Trump's
0:22.7	White House Council, we heard from him for the first time, and startling new details
0:27.2	about efforts that originated inside the Oval Office to overturn the election results
0:31.5	in December of 2020.
0:33.5	And when those efforts failed, how Trump then turned his sides to January 6th, ultimately
0:38.4	inciting an insurrection the committee argued.
0:41.1	Some of the most dramatic testimony were heard today focused on an unhinged December
0:45.3	18th meeting in the Oval Office, in which Mr. Trump and his loyalists discussed ways
0:49.9	to overturn the election, including seizing voting machines.
0:54.2	Former President Trump also moved to appoint one of those loyalists, Sydney Powell, a special
0:58.7	council when White House officials learned what was going on in the Oval Office.
1:02.8	They rushed into that meeting in an effort to stop the president and the meeting devolved
1:07.8	into a screaming match.
1:11.6	What they were proposing, I thought was nuts.
1:15.0	I'm going to categorically describe it as, you guys are not tough enough.
1:23.0	Or maybe I put it another way, you're a bunch of putt, excuse the expression.
1:27.6	But that's almost certain the word was used.
1:31.5	It's been screaming to me that I was a quitter and everything kept on standing up and turning
1:34.4	around and screaming at me.
1:36.1	And at the certain point I had it with him.
