In the first March for Life since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last June. Sunday will mark the 50th anniversary of that landmark decision, which is now no longer the law of the

land. For decades, the pro-life movement marched in Washington on the anniversary of the

dissertion, urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe. Well, they got what they wanted? So what did

activists do this time? Now they're focusing their energy on Congress. They want a federal ban,

which many Republicans worry would be an electoral disaster for the party, especially considering

the midterm backlash on the abortion issue. The marches route this year, which has gone to

the Supreme Court for decades, today wrapped around the Capitol, an obvious not so subtle message

to the Republican congressional majority in the House. But party leaders seem keenly aware

of the political risks here, because despite their close association with the anti-abortion rights

movement, House Republicans haven't put a bill on the floor that would further restrict abortion.

Instead, they've held votes on two largely symbolic messaging bills.

In fact, the highest ranking person to show up to the rally today, Steve Scalise, who's number

two in the House, he actually touted the messaging bills today and gave no hint at calling
