the podcast just about themselves and their lives and it's just an effort to

get to know each other. Today we're talking Dave Essinger and here we go.

10 minute miles.

I'm glad this is Dave because this is Scott Kummer calling from 10 Chuck

Mouse. How are you? Good. Good. How are you? Can you hear me? Okay. You're perfectly fine.

This is a good time. Yeah, perfect. Nice. All right. Well, what I like to start

out with is asking you where am I calling? Where are you? I'm in Bluffton, Ohio. I

told people we're like an hour south of Toledo. Okay. And what do you do for work? Oh, I teach English,

creative writing, composition, lit, rhetoric, that kind of thing at University of Findley. You

don't have Findley, Ohio. Yeah. Why would I know Findley, Ohio? Does something happen in

Findley, Ohio? Oh, boys, happen. I don't know. I tell people you haven't heard of the school

unless you're really into horses or you want to be a veterinarian when you grow up. What's

the horse connection? Um, there are huge, huge equestrian programs. We have two separate

horse farms because, you know, the English people and the Western writing people need separate

facilities, you know, so that's wild. Yeah, I get more, more students coming into office

hours, wearing spurs than I ever would expect, you know? Interesting. I'm trying to look

at the map and see if there's any chance I've ever been to Findley. Well, if you're driving

nice 75, then it's a, it's a stopping way, I guess. Yeah. Nice. Now, how did you give me

your little bit of your running history like we're like a two minute summary of how you

found running and where you were and where you are today? Sure. I, you know, I ran track
