This week, our guest is John Richardson from

consistent optionsincome.com. We're going to talk about options strategies and options trading,

a long-lost art that John specializes in and has some interesting things to say. Here he is.

I'm so excited to have on the show today, John Richardson. John,

how are you doing today? Great, Linda. And thanks for having me. Tell us a little bit about how

you got into options trading. Somewhere around the late 80s, I had some extra income. I was starting

to make some decent money. And so I sought the council of my father to find out what I should do with it.

And he said, you know, put it in mutual funds, which at least to me seemed kind of new back then.

So I marched over to the Fidelity office and was kind of underwhelmed with my alternatives.

At the time, I was getting kind of versent with computers. So I said, you know what? I'm going to

have my computer pick, you know, the things I should invest in.

So I started an Odyssey that lasted about 10 years of writing all these kind of mechanical trading systems.

What I learned through that process was that, you know, a lot of mechanical trading systems. I think I

developed some good systems, but they all have this one sort of Achilles skill, which is they go

through these horrendous inhumane drawdowns, and they, you know, they're testing your faith

all along the way. So it was kind of a miserable way to trade. And so I started looking for

some other ways and actually changing my opinion about how I thought the markets were. Like up to
