He is best known for his Canadian finance blog, but he also owns or is a partner on dozens of other websites.

So this week, we're going to talk to him a little bit about investing in websites.

Hi, Miranda. Thanks for having me on the show.

So, first of all, what made you decide that websites would be a good investment? What made you

decide to start buying up websites? Pretty much the success of my first site helped me at that decision.

When I first started a blog, I never really expected to make any money with it.

But once I did start making money, and I still have a full-time job,

I decided I wanted to sort of reinvest it into the business.

So I started looking for either sites I could build from scratch or sites I could buy

sites that have kind of become stagnant.

People weren't writing on them anymore.

So when buying a website, what do you look for?

What do you look for in terms of what you can turn around and turn into something profitable?

I mean, are you looking for something that's like a long-term investment, a long-term asset,

or are you looking for something that you can turn around and flip for a quick profit?

So far, it's all been long-term investment.
