0:11.7	would exonerate him from the allegations laid out in that Fulton County indictment.
0:16.5	If that was a date that was reserved on your eye, Cal, well, then I am sorry to inform
0:21.8	you that it has been called off.
0:25.3	Trump says tonight that his legal team is instead putting all of the overwhelming evidence
0:29.9	in formal legal filings.
0:32.6	He adds, therefore, the news conference is no longer necessary.
0:38.1	And that news comes right after Trump's legal team in another case finally gave its answer
0:42.6	as to when they believe the former president should go to trial.
0:46.7	Trump's team is arguing tonight that the federal 2020 election case brought by special counsel
0:51.6	Jack Smith should go to trial in April of 2026.
0:57.9	That is a whopping two years, seven months, and 16 days from now.
1:02.9	It notably comes well after the point in which Trump could be back in office and able
1:07.6	to pardon himself or just make this case disappear altogether.
1:12.7	And his legal team's justification for this date is classically Trumpy.
1:17.9	Remember, if you will, when President Trump first took office and had to prove to everyone
