| 0:33.8 | 40,000 Afghans have lost their lives, which I mean that doesn't even |
| 0:36.8 | include the 28,500 Afghan security forces that have been killed |
| 0:40.3 | just since 2015. Also beyond the loss of life the US has now spent |
| 0:43.7 | more than one trillion dollars in Afghanistan and currently has 14,000 troops |
| 0:47.3 | still in the country and with 2018 seeing record levels of violence the push for |
| 0:51.0 | a peace agreement between the warring sides has become more and more urgent. |
| 0:53.9 | In fact, so urgent that the United States is now engaged in direct talks with the very enemy |
