I am Sarah Isgurr joined by Steve Hayes and this week we are talking to Congressman Peter

Meyer of Michigan.

Congressman Meyer was elected into Justin Amashe's old seat.

He just was sworn into Congress on January 3rd and he is one of the 10 members of the

Republican caucus on the House to vote in favor of the article's impeachment against

President Trump.

This is a fascinating conversation that we are about to have and we are so grateful

to Congressman Meyer for giving us so much of this time.

There's a lot to talk about, a lot of newsworthy stuff to talk about, but before we get to any

of that, you are a freshman Congressman.

You hold Justin Amashe's old seat who left the Republican party shortly before he retired.

But maybe more interestingly, you also hold Gerald Ford's old congressional seat.

How, I mean, not to quote office space here, well, paraphrase, how would you say you got

here, Bob?

Well, thank you, Sarah and Steve for having me on.

I still don't know how I got here and the part from winning a primer in a general, but

it's very bizarre to kind of have this legacy of frankly impeachment and resignations and

partens and maybe just kind of presidential misconduct more broadly.
