Summary

Tonight! August 6 at 7:30pm ET you can watch live as the film Mr. Jones, written and produced by Gaslit Nation's very own Andrea Chalupa, about Stalin's genocide famine in Ukraine, will be blasted at the Russian Embassy Press Office (a.k.a. the Russian Propaganda Office) in Washington, DC, at 1706 18th Street NW. Anyone anywhere in the world can watch the event -- it will be recorded and livestreamed. Here is the YouTube link where you can watch live or at a later time.

The screening will open with a Q&A with three-time Academy Award-nominee Agnieszka Holland -- the director of Mr. Jones, and Andrea. The discussion will continue with Olga Lautman of the Kremlin Files prodcast who will join to talk about Russia's ongoing genocide in Ukraine.

Last fall, a Putin mob and authorities shut down a screening of Mr. Jones in Moscow and shortly after banned the renowned human rights organization, Memorial, that dared to show it. The Guardian reported on it here. Memorial faced years of repression for fighting for historical truths. So we're blasting the film at the Russians using a powerful projector.

This is going to be an interesting evening you don't want to miss!

1:18.5

at 1706 18th Street, Northwest in Washington, D.C. I'm going to be joined tonight by

Ignathe Knazka Holland, the three-time Academy Award nominee who's

1:29.9

given us wonderful films like the original The Secret Garden, Europa, Europa, and so many other

1:35.2

gorgeous films. As she moved mountains to make sure that we can make Mr. Jones, that story is very

1:41.2

personal to Ignatheka. She grew up in Soviet-occupied Poland. Her parents were both

1:46.6

journalists. Her father's official cause of death was interrogation while under, sorry, suicide

1:52.7

while under police interrogation. So she had a lot to say with Mr. Jones as much as I did.
