Summary

Mr. Beetle has decided to host a weekly storytime for young bugs (aided by his friend Gwen, who has agreed to operate the music player in an effort to provide the perfect soundtrack). Hosting a live storytime turns out to be slightly more complicated than Mr. Beetle imagined. How will his story end? Will it make any sense at all? And how will the young bugs (and the one terrifying mouse) respond to it? Is Mr. Beetle destined to become a legendary storyteller? You'll just have to listen and find out. If you love this story, please share it with all elder beetles who are still following their dreams, any mice who cannot eat bugs due to a severe allergy, all opiniated bugs, and your friends. They might just need a good story these days. Big People: if you happen to have an Apple device, leave a review in Apple Podcasts! If your tiny person wants to share a story they've written, please send photos or recordings of it to rhea@littlestoriestinypeople.com. I'd LOVE to see their artwork, stories, and anything else they'd like to share. BIG THANKS to the listeners who provided sound effects used in the story: OLIVER, CAROLINA, PEDRO, and CREDA! Thank you to LIZZIE for contributing the reminder at the beginning of this episode! This is Ria. Welcome to Little Stories for Tiny People. So I was thinking I would start

0:17.3

off today by, okay, hold on. Seriously, I just got a new email. Well, I think we all know

0:25.4

who this is going to be from. Dear Ria, you must be about to spit out your tea in shock

0:34.0

because you've never heard from us before. A few weeks back, the studio spiders gifted

0:41.8

us their old laptops and we've spent the last few weeks fixing them up. Now they're

0:49.5

good as new and we can send you emails too. Wait, what? This email is not from the studio

0:58.8

spiders. Then who is it from? Okay, let me skip past all the beginning stuff. Why don't

1:06.7

you have better lighting in here? Are you ever planning on installing wind chimes? I mean,

1:13.1

there's no wind in my studio, but okay. Blah, blah, blah, oh gosh, this is a long email.

1:20.8

Okay, here we are. We, the studio Beatles, felt it necessary to make email contact with you

1:30.8

after you unceremoniously change your podcast, be music without so much as consulting us

1:39.4

or the studio spiders. Oh, I see. They're teaming up now. Who are currently charging their

1:46.6

laptops after draining the batteries at an afternoon picnic? What? It doesn't even make

1:53.3

any sense. And who are the studio Beatles? All right, I am currently looking up into

1:59.9

the corners of my studio. And oh, yeah, yeah, there they are with their tiny refurbished

2:09.5

laptops. Hello up there. Great. Okay, let me get to the end of this. If you make more

2:17.6

unauthorized changes, we will have no choice but to make loud clicking noises while you

2:23.4

tell your stories, which you will have a really, really, really hard time editing out.

2:32.3

Sincerely, the studio Beatles. Huh, a threat? Seriously? Is that how you want to kick off your

2:41.6

email correspondence? All right, look, Beatles, I'm sorry I didn't give you a heads up about

2:48.8

the music. I wish I had. But I mean, is it that big of a deal? And I'm going to make it

2:56.4

up to you because our story today was going to be about a turtle. But you know what? I'm
