It's been, you know, I was thinking about this right before we locked on, and I got plenty of,

what I'm going to stop to ask you, right in the depth of portal season got the portal open for another i don't know 24

hour something like that so that is how long before your sanity returns to some extent but i think i

sent you a text several months back and i was dealing with my own mortality but i think i sent it to you

i said hey we've been doing this 20 years you've been to this place 20 years at this point it's two

decades i i'm fully,

I'm just 41, but I'll tell you there was something about being in the same place, doing the same

thing for now at two in front where I kind of went, oh my God, I'm not 26 anymore. Like this is, this is different.

This is over.

You know, Clem does a good job of reminding me of that every day.

And, and, you know, it's weird because, like, when you're in the same place, you have, like, the same memories.

There's things that trigger that seem like yesterday, and they weren't yesterday.

They were a lot of yesterdays ago. And so I think that it, you know, you wake up. And for me, I'm 46 and I'm going like, man, I remember when I was a kid, I used to think 46 was old. But now that I'm here, I'm like, that's not old. Like, I'm still young. Well, and not to get down a journalism path because everybody only cares about baseball, but just things have changed so much that nobody's even on the beat with me anymore that's been around for any period of time. I mean, I think of the people that are actually around. I might be the only one that day-to-day covered even like Doug Nakeasy. and I'm going, oh, my God. Like all you people are brand new here.

So I'll get the, you know, I'll get the guy at the end and goes, hey, Chase, what was it like in like 2007? And I go, oh, my God, that was almost 20 years ago. And I can answer that question. I know the answer. Like, this is, this is scary here. Because, I mean, look, we were joking before we started this.

You're in the middle of this hellscape that is the month of June every year. It's just scary here. Because, I mean, look, we were joking before we started this.
