Today in the Marshall Proop podcast, we are going back five years remembering the 2015 Petit

Le Mans, Imsa season finale, 10 hours, normally the close to the season in normal circumstances,

but this 2015 race, anything but normal run under the heaviest of clouds and skies, downpours

a frequent participant throughout the event, and come race day, oh Lord, did we have something

special happen, courtesy of the Porsche GT team.

So we spend about 45 minutes or so here with our good pals, Nick Tandy, Patrick Peele,

third member of the driving team, Ricard Leitz, wasn't available unfortunately, but got together

here, I believe, late September to have this look back.

They definitely unearthed some gems about a magical day.

What we definitely look back at is one of the handful of great sports car wins

in the first two decades of this century,

all courtesy of the amazing tires carried by their Porsche 9-11 Rsars, that being Michelin in the GT-Lamau class,

the rest of Imsa's classes from prototype where we had LMP2s in Daytona prototypes,

the GTTD class, LMPC, all on Continentals.

And as we wrote back then quite often, oh boy, there was a massive difference in quality.

Well, guess what?

When you go to rain tires between the two brands, it was like, it was not good.

And that is what enabled our friends at Porsche to win Petit Lamont overall in a GT car and knock down all the prototypes.

And as our friends, Nick and Patrick will tell you, knock them down over and over and over again.

So we're just winding the clock back here.

Truly an amazing, amazing result.

I think about five years later, my shoes and socks are finally dry from being at that event.
