Hello, Dr. Laura. I feel incredibly, incredibly blessed to be having this conversation with you right now.

So I just want to start by saying thank you.

I am 31 years old going on 32.

I am an executive assistant, type 1 diabetic,

and gay male just to throw some labels out there that may help you understand me.

And the reason I'm calling today is because I have uncertainty about decisions I've made in the past year and if they were the right thing to do.

So for the better part of my life, I have felt that I have lived to please everyone around me.

That was the top priority in my decision making with how my decisions would affect others.

And as you can imagine, that hasn't really, that didn't fare well for me.

And so a year ago, I made the decision to make a drastic change to my life and to move to a new city and and stop reaching out to folks with hopes that they would reciprocate the same effort that I give toward them.

Particularly this is for my mother and my sister.

Prior to making my move, I lived with my mom.

We had a very tumultuous relationship that goes back into my childhood.

My mom was a single mom. She chose a bad man that was in and out of prison and not really

I got type 1 diabetes at the age of 10.

My sister was molested.

And so there were a lot of things that I can understand affected her.
