It's smart enough. It knows this is dangerous, I'm jumping out.

But if you put a pot of water that's lukewarm on the stove and you put the frog in it and it's hanging out in the water, as that water begins to boil,

it's not going to jump and it's going to boil to death. And so for those of us who were in it,

none of us fell in love with a mean, nasty, abusive narcissist. None of us fell in love with

the guy or girl who treated us like that from the beginning. Welcome back to another episode of Badass Basic Bitch.

On today's episode, I have Ms. Karen McMahon, who is a certified relationship and divorce coach

and founder of Journey Beyond Divorce.

Karen leads a team of divorce coaches and supporting men and women around

the world to become calm, clear, and confident as they navigate divorce. And I am so excited

for this interview, y'all. I've been super open about my own divorce, my own high conflict divorce.

And so Karen, let's get started.

Thank you for being here today. Thanks for inviting me. It is a great topic and there's so much to cover. So why don't you tell the listeners a little bit more about yourself and how you got

started in this divorce land.

Like this, I feel like this chooses you. You don't choose it. So I would love some background.

Yeah, no, thank you. I was a child of divorce. My dad, my mom was a rageaholic. My dad was an

alcoholic. And thank God by the age I turned 14,

they decided to split. And me and my sisters were relieved because it was a pretty high-conflict household.

And so I was absolutely certain I would never get divorced.
