I'd like to welcome everybody to today's presentation on moving from supportive to solution focused intervention. And this is one of

those things that is really kind of timely, I guess. I mean, usually it's timely. But right now,

there are a lot of people struggling with a lot of stress. And supportive interventions can only go so

far. And helping them deal with this stress in the long term will require that they start moving

towards solution-focused intervention.

So we're going to differentiate between supportive and solution-focused interventions,

identify the function of each, and explore some techniques or intervention to facilitate

transition from supportive to problem solving

or solution-focused intervention. So what's the different? Supportive interventions are grounded in

empathy and helping the person survive the moment. Such as kind of like plugging a hole in the
