So without looking it up, would you think that sex and nudity

and movies are more common or less common today

than 24 years ago? Well, if you said more, you're blessedly mistaken.

In fact, according to a study by the economist's sexually explicit content

and top-growing live-action films today has fallen by 40% since the year 2000.

Now of course it's not that Hollywood has had some sort of moral awakening.

As producer and film industry analyst Stephen Follows pointed out, things like drugs and violence and profanity,

that's all remained roughly constant in movies during that same period.

The only type of potentially objectionable content to have dramatically fallen like this is explicit

sexual imagery.
