Summary

Mike and Kelsey share their best and worst movie experiences for the month of September. Mike shares why he thinks some of the most original movies of the month went unnoticed. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Good Boy which is a horror from the perspective of the dog. It’s about a man who moves into a new home that has supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities start to threaten him, his brave dog comes to the rescue. Mike shares why it is one of the most original movies of the year, how it made him want a dog and did it deliver on the scares? In the Trailer Park, instead of a trailer, Mike talks about the release of The Simpsons Movie 2 poster and announcement the movie will hit theaters in 2027. He shares his excitement, history of the Simpsons and what he hopes will be in store for the sequel.

That is the sound of a coffee cracking as we start this episode. Hello and welcome back to Movie Mike's movie podcast. I am your host, Movie Mike, joined by my wife and caffeine drinking co-host. Kelsey, how are you? I've been better. It's been a day. It's been a week. It's been a year. It's been a day, though, in particular. But we're here to talk about good things. Yes. And bad things, good. We're just here to talk about things. It is the best and worst of September. In the movie review, I'll be talking about Good Boy, the horror movie from the perspective of the dog. Sounds terrible. But in the trailer park, I'm going to switch it up. And instead of talking about a movie trailer, I'm going to talk about a movie poster because they announced the Simpsons movie. And I'm breaking down all the excitement I have going into the Simpsons movie, too, which I thought was fake when it first was announced. I will excuse myself from this recording when you decide to record that portion. But thank you for being here.

Best thing you watched in September, which was still a pretty busy month. I think August is going to be the biggest month I've ever had going to see new movies in theaters. Yeah, because you saw so many movies in August. I went hard in August. September was like a bunch of random things. I don't know. October feels pretty packed between like big theatrical releases and then all the ones that we've seen the

2:01.6

trailers for at the bell court yeah we're getting into like early oscarish season like we actually

2:07.7

don't have time to do all the things like we were trying to plot out like when to see movies and

2:12.0

it's hard good movies that have come out on apple but between that and football and just like

2:17.2

trying to leave the house

2:18.9

every once in a while. And then I got this wild thing of like wanting to go do things this month.

2:23.3

It's going to stand out of pocket for me, but we should go to this event. You sent me something

2:26.5

the other day and you were like, do you want to go? And I responded, I can't tell if you're joking or not,

2:30.6

because why would you suggest leaving the house on a weeknight? It is a Wednesday night opening of a bar.

2:36.7

Can I say who it is? I don't know if it's like an announced thing. But by the time this air, it wouldn't have happened yet. So if you see it on social media that we went to a bar during the week, you're to be like, this is so weird, but it'll also make sense. And then we have like, I have the Jonas brothers this month.

2:52.7

Got a couple concerts.

2:54.4

We just have... weird, but it'll also make sense. And then we have like, I have the Jonas brothers this month,
