Welcome to Rates and barrels. It's Monday, December 19th.

0:18.0

Derek Van Riper here with Endo Seris on this episode.

0:21.2

We enjoy more player movement.

0:23.9

Do you remember how much last December was a struggle to get through the early days of the

0:29.9

lockout, knowing that it wasn't going to be a quick resolution, knowing that we weren't

0:34.1

going to have big signings and trades and different things to kind of help us along through the final weeks of the year.

0:42.0

It was awful. It was so terrible.

0:44.8

A good thing we had practice because of COVID.

1:41.8

178 innings was a career high. The skills,

1:45.9

though, have been excellent going back to the start of 2021. I know he pops in the pitching

1:51.6

model, so from that perspective, this makes all the sense in the world. But, you know, I was actually

1:56.5

a little bit surprised that the Yankees did this, given that they already have Garrett Cole,

2:00.8

given that they have Luis Severino there.

2:02.7

It didn't seem like frontline starting pitching was necessarily a thing that they would go
