Welcome to the aggressive life. This is special seven-part series celebrating the nationwide

0:11.3

release of my book, Move, a guide to get up and go forward. It's a 70-day devotional guide

0:18.6

meant to get you moving, not philosophizing, not thinking, but actually

0:22.4

moving. This week, we're working through the first seven days of content together. Let's get to it,

0:29.2

day four. Four, it's a great thing to be a man.

0:57.1

First Kings chapter 2, verse 2 to 3 says, be strong and show yourself a man and keep the charge of the Lord your God, walking in his ways and keeping his statutes, his commandments, his rules, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses,

1:05.1

that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn. Probably won't surprise you to learn that I've never been a woman. If I were, I'm sure I would see amazing benefits of being a female, but since it's just us,

1:13.9

let's dwell on the high calling of being a man. Have you ever considered that it is a blessing to be a

1:19.3

man? Practically, we get the ease of peeing standing up. Physically, we tend to have more body

1:26.9

mass to get manual things done. While not always right,

1:30.8

throughout history, we have had opportunities available to us that weren't available to women.

1:36.7

When the craziest, most inspiring passages in the Bible takes place when the great King David was on

1:41.7

his deathbed. David called his son Solomon, who would be his successor,

1:46.1

into his chambers for his final counsel. He didn't tell him to be an enlightened individual or a

1:52.3

mature adult, but to be a strong man. In some ways, this is freeing for us. Men should be men.

2:00.8

Men should live out the blessing that's been given to them,

2:03.9

but it's also a challenge. Be strong, David said, and show yourself a man in First Kings 2-2.

2:12.7

Live up that calling, he told Solomon, and prove your manhood. We men must acknowledge the unique blessings that have

2:20.1

come our way and put them into play. Being a man is a gift, you should not squander. Do what Solomon was

2:28.5

instructed to do. Prove yourself a man by keeping God's mission for your life, by walking in his ways, by prospering

2:37.7

in what you do. You have one life to lead, make it count. Grab opportunities by the throat and

2:44.6

hold on with all your strength as you honor God's ways. And if you do this, scripture tells us that God will bless your efforts.
