SCRIPTURE
Proverbs 13:2-3, 14
Vs. 2-3 - From the fruit of his mouth a man eats what is good,
but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.
3 Whoever guards his mouth preserves his life;
he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
vs. 14 - The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,
that one may turn away from the snares of death.

| 0:29.4 | We're going to be looking at three verses, verses two through three and verse 14. |
| 0:34.0 | I've decided to couple verses together from the chapters in Proverbs that have similar |
| 0:38.6 | themes and similar topics. |
| 0:40.7 | And today we're going to be talking about what I'm referring to as mouth fruit. |
| 0:46.5 | Now obviously that is a strange word and a strange way to say it. |
| 0:50.1 | But the first verse says from the fruit of his mouth, a man eats what is good. |
| 0:56.2 | So stop for a moment and think about that. |
| 0:58.7 | Your lips, your mouth, is like a tree in the sense that it produces fruit. |
| 1:05.9 | There are things that come out of your mouth, things that your mouth produces that can |
| 1:09.7 | be sweet and delicious to others who hear it or it can be bitter and sour and actually |
| 1:16.7 | upset the stomach. |
| 1:18.2 | And so we need to consider the fruit that is coming from our mouths. |
