Revelation chapter 21 verses 1 through 5.

Normally, we only read a verse or two, maybe three.

But I want to read all five of these verses.

I just want you to get the picture.

And before I read, I want to lead us in prayer today,

based on this passage, particularly when we think about death.

When we think about people who we love, we know who have trusted in Jesus

and who have gone on to be with the Lord.

And I just want to read this passage and celebration of the God

who makes sure the death is not the end of the story.

And I just want to encourage you, especially if you are mourning someone's death right now

or when you find yourself mourning someone's death in the future

that you might be able to come back to just hear these words and to pray accordingly.

Revelation chapter 21 verse 1, then I saw a new heaven and a new earth

for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away

and the sea was no more.

And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God,

prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying,

behold, the dwelling place of God is with man.

He will dwell with them and they will be his people
