So mountain bike tires are a popular topic among single tracks readers and listeners, and it's

been a couple of years since we talk tires. A lot has changed since then, so we thought we

would revisit the topic today. We're going to discuss what's going on with tire widths and

tread patterns, talk about

some of the tires we've tested recently, and fill you in on new tire tech and things like

mountain bike tire inserts. So Matt, let's start off talking about these tire widths.

You know, we've seen a lot of changes over the years with tires going from, you know,

regular standard tires to fat bike tires, the plus. And now we're seeing, I don't know,

what do you call it, the two and a half inch, two point six inch tires? What do you think is a

good name for that? Ooh, extra wide, extra wide. I mean, what do they, what do they call in the wider

rim widths

I don't know yeah those are just like

say it by the size 30 millimeter or whatever

I know Maxis is calling the 2.5 and 2.6 inch
