Summary

This week it’s off to the Moulin Rouge - the number one cabaret show in the universe (and one of the top attractions in Paris).

Luckily for me, I got to go backstage after the show to meet one of the lead dancers, Amanda Chapman, who has been a staple feature of the show for the past 12 years.

She explains how she landed the gig as a showgirl as an 18-year-old in Australia, where the snakes are stored, and why dancing topless is like a badge of honour among the dancers.

If you want to find out more about the Moulin Rouge, visit the official site here.

It is a bit of a mystery and I've been living in Paris for four years. I've always been

intrigued by it and Fortune has smiled upon the yearful tower. Lady Fortune, the fickle goddess

of Fortune because I was fortunate enough to go and see the show as some of you Instagram followers

for an interview with today's guest, Amanda Chapman, an Australian who has been working at the

Moulin Rouge for 12 years. She's one of the lead dancers. If you've been to the show,

you've probably seen her. And yeah, so we weren't in the studio. We were behind the scenes

there talking about what it's like to be a dance at the Moulin Rouge, what goes on behind closed

doors, what happens when something goes wrong, where do they keep the snakes, all kinds of

1:25.2

things. The kind of thing you'd expect from a Neufel Tower interview,

which, if it's your first time around here, I do this every single week.
