Summary

A Qatar-less week means it is time for a full Gas It Out Q&A.

Gav, Neil and Sylvain dive into a stack of your questions, from MotoGP’s planned reserve rider rules to whether the 2027 850cc era could repeat the old 800cc problems. There is chat about Marc Márquez, Marco Bezzecchi and Jorge Martín in the title fight, Yamaha’s V4 development, Ducati’s direction, and why Friday can make or break a whole MotoGP weekend.

There is also a proper catch-up with Sylvain after BSB testing at Donington, plus a look ahead to his huge few weeks with the Le Mans 24 Hours this weekend and the London Marathon the next.

Along the way, there is concern for Aleix Espargaró after his testing crash, debate over sprint-race grids, some commentary talkback nightmares, and one of the more ridiculous questions we have ever had on the pod.

If in doubt, Gas It Out.

Hello and welcome to another edition of Gas It Out, the Motorcycle Racing podcast.

As always, I am joined by my illustrious colleagues, Neil Hodgson and Sylvan

0:23.4

Gintoli, and we just, we should have been in Qatar. Basically, when we are recording this,

0:28.5

we should have been over in Doha for the fourth round of the championship. As you will all know,

0:34.4

it has been cancelled. And so, yeah, we've had a week of just trying to work out what to do with ourselves.

0:42.7

Sylvan, you've probably been keeping the busiest.

0:44.8

How was all your testing?

0:46.6

How's your prep going for the 24 hours and for the marathon?

0:49.7

How's that all looking?

0:51.3

Good.

0:51.8

It's looking good.

0:52.7

But, yeah, like you said, Gis, it's been busy. So straight

0:56.1

from Austin, I went straight to Laman to, for two-day tests. That's for the World

1:00.7

Anderun's team with my new team, auto race Uber. So it's like the new BMW, so maybe two

1:06.8

factory teams for BMW next year, the 37 bike that was on last year, and then this one,

1:11.6

76. So yeah, that went really well. And then I was straight back for that, one day off,

1:17.7

and then two days testing BSB in Dunnington Park with the 8-10 racing team, so as well for

1:23.5

BMW, BSB trim. I'll tell you, well, that was a bit of shock, though. The BASB bikes are interesting to ride, obviously without trash control, without

1:32.5

really control. So from going from Honduras to this, you had to sort of readjust the right

1:38.6

wrist a little bit. But it was good. I enjoyed it, and yeah, it it went really well and hopefully the idea there was to try

1:46.3

and help the 8-10 racing team, you know, to dial in the bike and try and find some

1:52.2

gains, you know, with the electronics and that because obviously in BSB, it's the MoTech ECU.
