It is safe to say that we will not miss 2023, some thoughts on the year that has been and what we might see in 2024.

And our guest is someone who inspires so many people in Israel and abroad and probably would give everything not to be in that position.

It's unholy two Jews on the News. With our last episode of the year, your need, our last planned episode anyway,

after events of this year, you always have to leave room for that.

You can't be too careful. You can't be too careful. As you say, not quite the year we planned.

I mean, the year began with, we knew there was going to be a new government. The surprise of 2023 at first, we thought, was that it was all about the judicial overhaul,

or the judicial coup, as its opponents call it, which also was not anticipated.

It came as something of a surprise in the beginning of January because it hadn't been front

and center of the election campaign of the new incoming

and returning Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

So that itself was a surprise.

It dominated for eight months.

We talked about it from every possible angle, you and I, right through the year.

You know, emergency updates about rulings and votes and all that kind of thing, all of which

was then, of course, massively overtaken by what happened on October the 7th, which is one

of those dates that has entered the language as a shorthand for a whole lot of things, like 9-11

or other dates. And that is dominated our conversation right till this moment.

It will into 2024, although a bit of a blast from the recent past just in the last few hours

with the news where you are.
