Welcome to Bombshell. This is Erin Simpson. Radhaeingar. I'm Lauren D. Youngshelman. And we are back to you with a special 100 days version of bombshell.

We're going to get to a variety of topics here today.

But first, as always, Lauren, what are we drinking?

We are drinking courtesy of my parents, Bob and Trisha D. Young.

They sent us from their trip to Carmel Valley, a bottle of La Montan Sauvage, a Carmel Valley red wine. I selected this in

honor of another memory of 100 days, Napoleon. His are usually slightly more negatively

perceived than presidential first 100 days. But maybe a competitive category. Indeed, his

culminated in Waterloo, I think probably not his finest moment. But I also brought along some

chocolate truffles, champagne truffles just to go along with it, to go on with a pseudo-Frenchish

theme. But this is a lovely bottle of red. Thank you, Mom and Dad. Well, speaking of Napoleon and France, of the many things we have in keeping up foreign relations this week, which we're not going to cover in any great detail, but we had French elections, right? The runoffs will take place in a couple of weeks. Luckily, we can just punt for two weeks, right? Punt for two weeks. We have Macron and Le Pen. So I guess it was a good thing

that the fascist finished second, which seems obvious to say, but maybe not in this election.

Who knows? Right. So we have, meanwhile, the Brits not wanting to make sure that they got in on

the same electoral action called a snap election, will take place in may that's likely to

be about teresa may trying to solidify some sort of pro-Brexit majority in her parliament

while the labor party is just completely yeah floundering floundering i mean just a nice way to say

we've also had i don't know if you guys saw this massive attack on an

Afghan base in Masary Sharif. Yeah. Over 140 Afghan army troops killed. Yep. And apparently

Secretary Mattis is actually there on a surprise visit right now. Yep. Not wearing any body armor,

according to the pictures that I saw. Well, interesting. Not my job to tell him to wear that.

That's right. So, but who's going to tell him otherwise? Right. You know. Usually his productive details pretty firm on these matters, but then again, it's Secretary Mattis. I'm just, I'm just, it's on Twitter, so it must be true. Right. That's what I have there to say. And then, of course, last week, we had a number of political prisoners in Egypt released, which does provide potentially

a nice win for the Trump administration, certainly a very nice win for those families.

And we'll get into all of that here in a minute. But first, what we want to do is to dive deep
