There was a little bit of a hint of an issue with an injury for Caleb Downs. There was one report about that

and it had kind of been kicked around. I think it was confirmed that there was some concern

over whatever injury or maybe it was the injury was confirmed, but there was no concern about

it. I don't know how you could not have concern about any injury for someone

like that, but safeties historically just don't get drafted anywhere as high as they do in

mocks because always the mock drafters are looking at and the big board creators, they're looking

at his talent and they're saying, who would not take this guy in the top 10?

Look how talented he is.

But what ends up happening is the team say, we need a tackle.

We need a receiver.

We need a edge rusher.

And we're going to take those guys ahead of a safety because that's what the team building data tells us to do that's what our future spending tells us to do

and downs also a box safety is it's a pretty specific job it's not if he's not a roaming the

secondary guy but you're playing in box safety well what's everyone playing these days everyone's playing too high these days so if you're the box safety do well, what's everyone playing these days? Everyone's playing too high these days.

Or can he play as more of a deep safety who comes down and makes tackles but tracks

people down in the secondary?

I think that's a great call that he's more likely to drop.
