Like I said, I was asking God for so many things, things that I really didn't need.

What I needed was spiritual growth, but I wasn't praying to grow spiritually.

I was praying for things and for success and for my ministry to grow and all kinds of things

that before they could happen, I needed to grow.

And that's what I really needed to be praying for.

If you read the prayers of the

Apostle Paul, which are in Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, he doesn't pray for one thing

for the people that was a material thing. He never one time prayed for them to be delivered from a

problem they had. You know what he prayed for when they had problems? He prayed that they

would bear the trouble manfully and do it with a good temper. Did you hear that? Have you ever asked somebody, pray for me that I can endure this with a good temper?

No, we always want it to go away.

But it doesn't always go away.

And the quicker we learn what God wants us to learn, the quicker our circumstances will get better.

Paul prayed in Philippians 3 for himself.

He said, I pray that I would be found and known as in you, not having any righteousness
