Limhi introduces him in verse 1, and Amman takes the stand in verse 2.

He stands before them and rehearses unto them all that had happened unto their brethren from the time that Zenith went up out of the land even until the time that he himself came up out of the land.

Again, this is two generations worth of history

that these people have completely missed,

but that Amman knows they would be interested in.

These are your people. these are your brethren. I want to

hear your story, don't you want to hear theirs? I remember early on in our marriage, my

wife and I moved into my grandpa's old house in an old part of the

Salt Lake Valley where the church was very well established but there was an

incredible amount of less active members. Sure enough when I got my first home teaching assignment,

it was to people I didn't know, and as chance would have it,

people that didn't want to have anything to do with the church.

Well, what was I supposed to do? After making it a matter of

prayer and pondering I realized that most of these less actives have lived here for

ages, surrounded by other people who have lived there just as long.

And I thought, they know these people.
