Hello my friends, I'm Jared Halverson. This is unshaken. I hope your day has been as amazing as mine has been.

Honestly, as I was driving around this morning, I was listening to one of the latest podcast

episodes on Faith Matters Podcast, amazing at a conversation between John Kessler and Thomas

McConkey that was life-changing. They were proving contraries and talking about some

amazing stuff. So that was an amazing morning. For lunch I got to do an interfaith dialogue. A bunch of

Latter-day Saints scholars and evangelical scholars coming together around the table

just talk and shop. It was amazing. And then right after that I got to meet with an incredible friend of mine

Someone I actually met through Unshaken who just won Miss Wheelchair Washington and just is as deep a soul as you could possibly imagine.

And just I'm on this spiritual high and now I get to spend my time sitting here studying scripture with my favorite people around the world.

Today we're going to be talking about Messiah 29 through Alma 4.

So we got a lot of material to cover, five chapters, two different books, a lot of moving parts here.

And yet I do believe there is a common theme.

And so if we can kind of take that with us

as the lens through which we'll study these five chapters

for the next little while and all the time

that you'll spend in them without me this week. The common lens is choice because we have some

important ones to make this week. We are deciding between things like kings or judges. We're deciding between

priest craft and priesthood. We are being presented with a choice between Alma and Nihor, and who will you follow, and then follow

that up with Alma versus Amla Cai, and who are you going to follow in that one?

And then by the time we finish Alma 4 today, we'll have to decide where are we going to put our eggs in the temporal basket or the spiritual basket.

In terms of, again, physical spiritual, above, below, however you want to divide things which of those
