0:06.7	Today we're covering Mosaic 29 through Alma 4. And this is an amazing transition period for the history of the book Mormon,
0:18.3	the history of the Nephites as far as their government is
0:21.7	concerned, as far as the church is concerned. And it sets the stage for many, many things
0:27.3	moving forward, even as it becomes a symbolic lens for us to understand things that happened
0:35.5	in the far distant past.
0:37.9	You're going to see many, many times in these particular chapters variations on a pre-mortal
0:46.0	theme.
0:47.2	We're going to see types of Christ.
0:49.3	We're going to see types of the devil and these challenges that arise all based on a war or these struggles surrounding
1:04.6	agency, freedom, liberty, the ability for people to choose and to act and to live their life, how they feel
1:13.6	that they want to, according to the dictates of their own conscience. So the thing I want
1:18.4	to focus on for today's lesson as far as the lifelong learning overlay or this teaching
1:24.3	perspective is principles and practices for how we can help activate and empower
1:34.8	appropriate uses of agency. So there are a million ways you can look at this.
1:45.0	Here is one of them.
1:47.0	So the Arbinger Institute has this pyramid of influence and there are many, many variations
1:54.0	of the pyramid.
1:56.0	I want to just show you some of the concepts that help empower our use of agency. And it involves using the
2:07.3	following methods to help those we work with appropriately use their agency. We correct, teach,
2:15.5	listen, learn, and build relationships with them.
