I started by asking Roland for the most significant updates in the military sphere in the past 24 hours.

Hello everybody. Listen, this strike in Makivka, the New Year's Eve strike against a Russian barracks basically,

that killed large numbers of men. We're being cautious about the numbers,

but it's still dominating war reporting, interestingly in Russia itself.

So the latest update from the Russian Ministry of Defense says that 89 servicemen have been confirmed killed yesterday.

They were saying 63. That was from Lieutenant General Sergei Savrokov,

who's the deputy head of their military political department.
