0:10.6	And here we are talking to Dr. Ferguson from Scotland.

0:20.8	Well, enough on that, let's get to Owen.

0:32.1	introductory booklet written by Dr. Ferguson and the last paragraph of that booklet says.

0:58.8	Well, let's start with the book, Mortification of Sin.
1:04.9	This book was published in 1656.
1:07.3	You remember Owen was born in 1616.
1:11.4	He died in 1683.
1:14.0	So at the ripe age of 40, he published the mortification of sin.
1:20.2	Mortification means to put to death.
1:23.3	Owen saw the Christian life as mortification, that is, the mortification, the putting to death of sin.
1:30.7	And as vivification, the being brought to newness of life by the work of the Holy Spirit.
1:38.6	In this book, he takes on that first half, mortification.
