This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Morning Run with Amy and T.J. An I-Heart Radio podcast. Good morning, everyone. It is Tuesday, January 27th. I'm Amy Robach. And I am T.J. Holmes. And where are we? It looks like Iceland out the window there. It is freezing here in New York. And yes, the Hudson looks like we got little icebergs out there almost.

0:24.2

Yeah, we've been posting it on our social media accounts because I have to say, look, I didn't

0:28.5

always have a view of the Hudson, but lived here for more than 20 years. I have never seen

0:34.2

the Hudson this icy. It looks like we're in like the northwest territories of Canada or something

0:40.1

in the Arctic Circle. That's what it looks and feels like here in New York City. We'll get used to it.

0:44.5

It's going to be there for quite a while. A lot of the country right now still dealing. We've got

0:48.5

people with power out. We've got people still dealing with this frigid cold. We're going to be

0:52.3

dealing with it for the next week plus in a lot of places, we will get into that, as always. Good morning. Always as well. Top right corner of your Apple podcast app where you see our show page that button that says follow. Click that. You can always get our updates when you subscribe. A lot of updates, it seems lately. A lot of them coming out of a couple of hot spots around the country

1:11.7

and around the world. But our run this morning will take us to D.C., to Maine, to Mexico, to California,

1:16.5

and even to some federal courthouses. But we have to begin this run this morning in Minneapolis.

1:23.3

Major shifts in ropes? Is this the first day we've been able to wake up and all this and say we have,

1:29.7

quite frankly, a very positive update out of Minneapolis?

1:33.5

I would say that for the first time in weeks, there is hope. And hope is a powerful thing.

1:38.5

And we have some of it now.

1:40.0

And we see maybe a way out for the first time. So the big headline this morning is that there is going

1:44.8

to be a shift in who's in charge on the ground. Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino. You've seen

1:49.9

his face a lot. He is going to be leaving, expected to leave Minneapolis today, as well as a number of

1:57.3

agents leaving. Now, arriving in his place will be Border czar Tom Holman. He's going to take over

2:04.1

operations there. He's a 40-year vet with the Department of Homeland Security. He has served

2:07.7

several presidents, including President Obama. Yes, and the news of Bovino's departure,

2:12.4

Holman's arrival, and some very cordial, promising phone calls between President Trump and state leaders.

2:20.3

Yeah, this is all pointing to a seismic shift in tone and strategy coming from the top down,
