This is part two of our two-part discussion of why bad things happen. Last week, we talked about

other worldviews and other religions and how they deal with suffering. What is their answer to suffering?

Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish,

and then we looked at some more of the modern coping mechanisms that we've come up with.

So please go back and listen to last week's morning motivations.

They're all there just to get that broad overview

because it will make the Christian response to suffering

that we're going to go over this week

that much more unique and complete and more beautiful in my opinion.

But I think in order to understand the full beauty and uniqueness of the Christian response to suffering,

I think you first need to get an overview of what we did last week of other religions and worldviews. So first thing to know

before we go into the five aspects, the five Christian responses to suffering, is I just got to

state this before anything. Jesus knows what it's responses to suffering. I just got to state this before anything. Jesus knows

what it's like to suffer. Have you ever suffered physically? Are you suffering physically now? Have you

ever? Jesus suffered physically. He died on the cross. It's the most painful death imaginable. He

suffered. Isaiah 52.14 says,

there were many who were appalled at him.

His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man

and his form marred beyond human likeness.

Have you ever suffered emotionally?

So is Jesus.
