Good morning. Welcome to the morning motivation. So excited for this week of episodes. We're talking about why bad things happen. So this will be easy to figure out. We're talking about suffering. How do we think about suffering? First, it's good to ask these questions. Why do bad things happen?

It's one of the grandest questions of life.

And it's not only okay to ask it, it's okay to struggle with it.

The name Israel, Jacob, Israel, means to struggle with God.

That's what it means.

There's different kinds of suffering.

It's worth acknowledging that up front.

There's suffering that comes from you making really bad choices.

And there's suffering that comes from wars and suffering from natural disasters

and suffering from sickness and economic suffering and suffering from your fellow man,

just people doing terrible things to you unjustly so. And they're suffering from persecution

for being a Christian. So there's different kinds of suffering that come from different places
