Grateful you're here. Talking about this line from Jesus on the Sermon on the Mount,

Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against

you falsely on my account? rejoice and be glad, for your

reward is great in heaven. Quick word on what we talked about yesterday, not being depressed

when the persecution comes. This is relevant for other things, too. I catch myself being too

cynical a lot of the time, And cynicalness can come across as hopeless

or depressing. And I pray about, I pray against being cynical in my life. Maybe it's in the business

I'm in. Maybe it's one of the things to be cynical about the media or cynical about the federal

government or politicians. That's just learning lessons and not being a fool.

But to take it the next step and become cynical about life, that's too far of a step.

And I don't want to be that.

I don't know.

Maybe I'm thinking because this morning we recorded the special on revival and restoration in America.

Just the guess we talked to made me more hopeful.

Like we've had great awakenings in America before.

And by me being so depressed, thinking it'll never happen again, that's really limiting God.

Right.

Like, oh, God couldn't?

No, of course he could. Will he? I pray. But the persecution

will certainly come. That, he said very clearly, the persecution will come because life is hard.
