Morning Joe starts right now a weekend after the Orioles swept the Red Sox.

Not something I ever thought I would get to say, Joe.

No, it was rough. It was rough. Took my boys up to Fenway.

And my son, one of my sons told me right before we were about to be shut out in the first game,

said, you know, Dad, they haven't, the Red Sox haven't been shut out in their home opener at home since your 11th birthday.

I go, that's bad.

And then yesterday I hear the Red Sox haven't been swept their opening series since Harry Truman was president.

I don't know. By next week, we may be going all the way back to the Magna Carta.

I'm hoping, for the Red Sox's sake, though, Casey, that the Orioles are like the 27 Yankees this year

because that's what they looked like in Fenway.

Well, look, Joe, I got to tell you, the Orioles have not won a World Series in my lifetime,

which I think says more about them than it does about me, but who knows?

I will also say it was good.

I get, I'm sorry that you guys were there to witness that.

I know everyone wants the home team to win. Seeing Tray Mancini come back on the field after beating colon cancer, I'm sorry that you guys were there to witness that. I know everyone wants the home team to win.

I think it was a really, really great message to everyone that you can really come back strong from something tough.
