Good evening, everybody, and welcome to the Mormon newscast. I'll be anchoring the newscast this

How are you doing? Good. Really good. Really good. Okay. All right. Well, we've got some great stories tonight. This is a chance for you to say anything you want before you launch into the top stories. The title of tonight's show is Mormon women's stories lead the news. And I'll be taking that over tonight. However however let's give a brief overview of all of the

stories this evening first morman women's issues in the news the pros and cons of a i clergy i think

rebecca will be taking us down that particular rabbit hole and a book and a tv show about

mormonism wow that really doesn't narrow it down much but we'll find out the details on that for Mr. Real at the end of tonight show, I think.

There have been in the past week, three, yes, three Salt Lake Tribune stories on Mormon women's issues.

They are burning the midnight oil over there at the Salt Lake Tribune on these. The first one

came out on April 30th, 20th, 204, written by Piggy Fletcher Stack, entitled, LDS women no longer

meet separately with a designated apostle liaison. Now, I've got to tell you something. I was never

really up to speed on the structure of the church at those high levels as it relates to the Relief Society leaders meeting with whoever they meet with. But I think it was Rebecca who called me with a pop quiz the other day asking me if I knew this. And I had no idea. idea apparently the women and I'm talking about the

Relief Society presidency the other two presidencies but they used to meet with an apostle

they had an apostle liaison to whom they actually spoke directly to talk about things
