Morgan Stanley specializes in the wealth management unit. That's kind of like they're the thing that they're the kingpin of.

0:04.5

The reason being is they pivoted into it back in like the 1970s or then they got started, then really lead into it with the 2009 acquisition of Smith Barney from Citigroup.

0:13.4

I'm sure Citigroup is absolutely kicking themselves today because that wealth management division was the biggest reason for Morgan Stanley's success in the quarter.

2024. It is currently 5.24 p.m. in the afternoon. And you know what that means? It is time for the Daily Peel's Daily Podcast of the day. The world's most influential and powerful podcast. We, of course, appreciate you guys joining us here. Coming at you a little bit earlier than usual because we've got an absolute banger of a Daily Peel going out tomorrow. So I don't know what happened. I was, I hit a fucking vibe this afternoon and I was absolutely in my bag. So we have an all-time daily peel coming up tomorrow. I think it's going to be a good one. Hopefully you guys like it. But of course, always go for it to let me know. David at Wastraytaweasys.com, but there's ever some shit you want to shoot if you ever have ideas about, you know, stories that you want to

1:10.8

hear us write about or shit that you want us to talk about on the podcast, get our take on anything.

1:15.2

Always feel free to reach out to me, David at Walswatertawayas.com.

1:18.4

Love seeing you guys' email.

1:19.7

We got a couple come across earlier today that were just, you know, nice to see, but not really

1:23.5

important enough to talk about here today.

1:25.4

No offense to the people who sent them, by the way. It was good stuff. I love reading it. But yeah, it's, you know, there was one that I did get recently, though, somebody had an idea for a thought banana or like a macro monkey that we're going to be doing pretty soon. This is, I say we, it's just me, but we have, basically, the idea was to talk about the difference in valuations of earnings for companies based on geography.

1:47.0

So like the PE of company, the average PE of stocks in the United States versus Europe versus China,

1:52.0

and what kind of regulatory and political impacts actually kind of caused that dynamic that we're seeing globally.

1:59.0

So that was a good idea. The thing is we do have a lot of stories kind of banked up for quieter periods that we then move on to. Like that's when we do shit like the Buckees Exposรฉ and when we're talking about just the breakdown of Buckees when we're building the American consumer, random shit like that is just kind of all stored up. So the next one on our list is going to be those those valuation differences so expect that in the coming days and if anybody else has anything they want to talk about

2:21.5

always feel free to let us know all right we're two minutes into this and i haven't talked about

2:25.2

anything that you guys care about here today so let's go ahead and take a look at markets the

2:29.7

s mb 500 is up 47 basis points for the day absolutely pathetic performance if you ask me the w so alpha

2:35.4

portfolio completely dominated wasn't even close alpha was up 59 basis points on the day so hell

2:41.1

of a day for the fellas over here at walsford oasis we were carried over that finish line by our

2:45.6

exposure to invidia uh viz had a solid day as well of about 3% elevants health dis, Disney, Dollar General. Then we were pulled lower by Snowflake out. Of course, fucking Snowflake pulling us lower. All these snowflakes melt as soon as the fucking oven gets hot. Then we got Apple down about 90 basis points, Costco, Microsoft, blah, blah, blah, blah. But either way, overall, good day for the Alpha portfolio. Now, the S&P, like I said, was up 47 basis points. We have performed by about 12 bips on the day. The NASDAQ, even more pathetic. I didn't realize it was possible to have this bad of a return. But that index was up just 28 basis points for the session. We're also 2,000 up 1.65% completely dominating us, to be honest with you. But it looks like looks like small cap stocks had a pretty good day and then not that anybody cares whatsoever. The Dow is up 79 basis points. Definitely doesn't make me want to cry myself to sleep getting beat by the Dow. But all right, let's go ahead and move right along into some of our banana bits. Now, like I said, we are coming to you guys a little bit earlier with the recording on the pod slash video of the day here. So there might be some additional banana bits in the written edition tomorrow. So make sure to go ahead and check that out. And when you check out that written edition tomorrow, by the way, make sure to click on our advertising partners, refer a friend, just do something to grow the peel, grow our money and grow my job security. That would be much, much appreciated. So

3:58.2

getting into the banana bits, very much, very similar to, you know, good teeth or edible food.
