My guests are Morgan Freeman, the star of Ten Items O Less,

whether it's writer-director, Brad Soberling.

Brad, of course, we know from Lemony Snicket to a series of unfortunate events and

Moonlight Mile.

Morgan Freeman, we know from many, many other things.

First, congratulations on doing the Oscar.

That's your first time doing the show for thanks for doing this.

You're well, very well. I'll ask you guys first to talk about 10 items or less if you wouldn't mind.

Ten items or less is a little script that I wrote actually before going off to do Lemony Snicket.

And it's a pretty simple story.

It's a story about a movie star, a movie icon.

So hard to imagine.

It's actually Morgan playing that role. But it's a movie star who has, he's grown a bit commitment-phobic as we meet him. He hasn't done a picture in about four years. And who is sort of dabbling with the idea of going off to shoot a little independent movie because he's heard if those don't fly, then it won't count. So he's heading

down to a part of L.A. called Carson, it's a little industrial part of town, to do some research.

His only problem is when he gets down to this market where the story is supposed to take place.

Three things happen. One is the place is all Spanish speaking. There's no manager present, which is what he's actually gone to research. And then, of course, the PA who's dropped him off is clearly pretty close. And he's stranded there. So story picks up where he becomes quite fascinated with Pazvega, who is playing a checker named Scarlett on the 10 items for less line.

Basically, she realizes that if she doesn't help get him on back to Brentwood, he's going to get

killed.
