I'm Rebecca Kespi.

And we head first to the Ukrainian Russian border.

Over the past few days Ukrainian forces have launched a ground offensive inside Russia in the Kusk region.

We'll be looking at the latest on that, but this morning a major Ukrainian drone attack on a key

Russian air base the Lippets to airfield further east into Russia there were a series of

powerful explosions at the base and a huge fire.

The moment was shared by the Ukrainian MP Alexi Gonsieurenko on his telegram channel.

Here's the moment.

Well, four villages near that air base we're told have been evacuated.

Elsewhere, the Ukrainian ground offensive into the Russian Cusk region continues.

There are various bits of video footage coming out of the Cusk region this morning,

including this from the Russian Defence Ministry.

We've not been able to independently verify it, but the Russian government is saying it shows one of their

SU 25 fighter jets attacking a Ukrainian convoy of military vehicles in Cusk. Well this morning Moscow said it was moving troops and munitions to the region

and in the Ruppishan capital itself there's been quite a reaction to the Ukrainian

attacks as our Moscow editor Steve Rosenberg reports.

This is day four of Ukraine's surprise cross-border attack on Russia's Kursk region.

Looking at how the Russian papers are reporting this today,

here's something I find interesting.

Keep in mind that most of these newspapers are extremely pro-Cremnant.
