Luke Chapter 7 in verse 36. We're going to read a wonderful story and I'm going to title

this message more than yourself. I'd like to submit to you for your consideration that in this life you are going to need more than yourself.

Luke 636 is one of the Pharisees asked him Jesus to eat with him.

And he went into the Pharisees house and took his place at the table.

And behold a woman of this city who was a sinner when she learned that he was reclining

a table in the Pharisees house, brought an alabaster flask of ointment.

Standing behind him at his feet, weeping,

she began to wet his feet with her tears,

and wiped them with the hair of her head

and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment.

Now when the Pharisees who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, if this man were a prophet,

he would have known.

Notice he says to himself, doesn't say out loud, he would have known who and

what sort of woman this is, who is touching him, for she is a sinner. Jesus answering said to him,

Simon, I have something to say to you.

Simon probably kind of shaken out of his thoughts,

says, say it, teacher.

And Jesus introduces the most simple, basic parable

in all of his teachings.

It's very short, he says a certain money lender had two debtors.

One owed 500 dinary, which is about a year and a half wages,

and the other 50, which is about two months wages.
