As we begin our prayer time, take a moment to settle in and remove distractions.

If you haven't already, try to gather a drink and a small piece of bread or a cracker.

As we prepare to take communion together, I want you to listen to the story in Matthew where Jesus took communion with his disciples.

I'm reading from Matthew chapter 26, verses 26 through 28 while they were eating Jesus took bread and when he had given

thanks he broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take and, this is my body.

Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them,

saying, drink from it, all of you.

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

The symbolic act of eating bread that represents Jesus' body, and drinking wine or juice representing His blood,

is the ultimate acknowledgement of our deep connection and relationship

with God in the flesh, Jesus.

The invitation is to receive all Jesus offers us.

So with your time today, I want you to take communion with all of these things in mind.

Let's start with the bread.

Take the bread and eat it.

And maybe with your eyes closed,

say out loud,

Jesus, thank you that your body was broken

so that I can be whole.

Thank you for sacrificing your body for my sake.

I receive the wholeness that only comes from you.

Now I want you to take the cup and drink it.
