I want to see something fantastic that we're going to do coming up this hour.

Oh yeah, what's that audio? It's the audio of a world record being set, but we have to guess what world record.

I know idea. I don't know the story. I have intentionally intentionally avoided it. It's the radio sensation sweeping the nation.

So this is a front page story in the New York Times on Sunday, an in-depth article about what it's been like in Newtown, Connecticut after maybe the worst thing that's happened in my life.

We're sorry when all those kindergartners were murdered by that scumbag loser crazy kid.

And we all remember that. It was just horrifying. But so what happens to a city after that?

Well, first of all, merchandise arrived by the truckload, including 60,000 teddy bears.

Wow, that's a lot of teddy bears. Oh boy.

And more bicycles than they have children in the entire town. So many flowers and stuffed toys, clogged intersections that the town gathered, composted and burned them, aiming to incorporate the results in a sacred soil to memorialize the victims.

But also they just had to get rid of the stuff.

Yeah, there's kind of a poetic explanation of more going to make this into sacred soil.

Because we got to do something with it.

The families of the town were warned early on that there could be trouble.

And the first days after the shooting survivors of other mass tragedies contacted them, which is interesting, and told them that established charities like the United Way do not always transfer donations to the people most affected.

But retain money for other separate needs, like after school or jobs programs. We could stop and discuss right now that phenomenon. Sure.

So you hear about a tragedy like this. You don't donate money to a big charity. What are you wanting that money to do?

And if my kid gets shot at school today, God forbid, be the worst thing that ever happened to me. But should I get a million dollars for it? Right.

Why? Or actually giving me money.

If my kid gets shot at school today and a couple other kids, I get nothing. If 30 of them get shot and killed, then we all become millionaires.

A lot like what terrorists and what is the what is the theory behind that? I'm not trying to sound hardhearted. It's just weird and illogical.

Yes.

And yeah, and just what what if I, if I, if I donate money to one of these charities, what am I hoping to accomplish?
